To the Beach and Back!

This past Friday we all went down to our family's place at EI.  We left friday after I got off work @ 7pm.  Denny was so great, he had the truck all packed up by the time I pulled in the driveway! (He's so good to me and Bray). All I had to do was throw some clothes in a bag and head out the door!  (Denny isn't allowed to pack my clothes...there is no telling what I would have to wear...I'm sure many of you can understand!)

We made good time and Bray fell asleep on the way down. Now that sounds like a good thing, right?!? WRONG!  That falling asleep ends up being a "POWER NAP" for him! It's like just as soon as we get down there and the door opens the smell of the salt air wakes him up!  In other words he's up for the next two hours, full of energy!

It's Starting to get there!

I had posted a few days ago in "Are you kidding me" that our house was no ways near being decorated.  I know, I know...Rome wasn't build in a day, but to be honest our house is starting to get there.  Yesterday on my day off I went and bought Denny a new recliner for his birthday and Fathers Day.  (I had to because he was crowding me on the couch at night and his old recliner WAS NOT invited to the new house).  Point being that big space in our living room by the fireplace has a nice comfy new black leather recliner in it.  It's amazing how just one thing can make a room feel so much different!

Today Brayden and I meet my pregos friend, Jennifer, and we all went to pick out bedding plants for the front flower bed! Got a ton of plants on the cheap! So excited...Denny has mixed feelings...he's glad I saved so much $$$ but now, poor thing, he has yet another thing to add to is "To Do List".  My heart goes out to him....no really ;-) he's a pure blessing to this family....even if this place is for the burds!

Are you Kidding Me?!?

I have to laugh...there have been several things over this past week that just make me want to say...."ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?"

Here is just a small list of some of the things that stand out:

  •  "Have you got your house all decorated yet?"....are you kidding me...heck no! We've been here not even a month. Not to mention, we have gone from a house that wasn't even 1000sq ft to one that is around 3000 sq ft...there's no way this place is "all decorated"...there isn't even a picture hung on the wall yet...lol! Here are just a few pictures of the house I took this morning.
  •
    Kitchen Island

    Kitchen

    Kithen Sink

    Build In Entertainment Center

Side Chair with Bray in his "big boy" undies ( he refused to move)

    Master Bath Walk In Shower

    Master Bath with Double Sinks

    Dinning Room

    Brayden's Bedroom
  • "I hate to ask but, are you gaining weight?'...are you kidding me...yes!  I'M PREGNANT! I love how people speak before they think about how it might sound when it comes out.
  • ""What time is it"...response: "a little after 2PM"...omg are you kidding me....That was me yesterday at work after I realized what time it was and that I had NOT  ate lunch yet because we were so busy...remember I'm pregnant and for some reason I feel the need to eat...I don't know...like every two hours! My breakfast from 6:20AM was GONE!
  • You can't take a shower here in the morning" says Denny at 10PM....are you kidding me...Why?!?  So, Denny noticed we had a tiny gas leak coming from our tank less water heater's regulator.  Needless to say I was driving to my mama and daddy's house at 5AM yesterday morning to take a shower before work...but it was kinda nice being able to get ready and talk to mama like it was when I still lived there.  (It really is the little things in life that make it so sweet!)

Pure Chaos!

Sundays are supposed to be a day of rest, time to reflect on the past week, and get yourself prepared for the week ahead...well not this past Sunday... it was full of pure CHAOS!

Things started off great, we all got ready went to see Denny's brother Nick at the cemetery then we went to church ( Bray was actually pretty good during church, except I kept telling him "no talking, it's Mrs Ann's, our preacher, turn to talk" to which he replied right loud, "It's no Mrs Ann's turn to talk, it's my turn to talk".)  Luckily they have put childrens' sermon to the very begining of church right after the opening prayer....THANKS BE TO GOD!

After church we came back to the house and the -in laws came over, there was talk about going out to eat lunch vs supper to celebrate my birthday ( they went to the beach on Friday and came back Sunday) So, I ended up only eating a durn blueberry bagel and boy did my family pay for it...cause I was WAY GRUMPY! Point being pregnant people HAVE TO EAT, OUR LIVES REVOLVE AROUND WHEN THE NEXT MEAL IS GOING TO BE!

Anyway we opted to have dinner at 4:30pm so to waste time, Denny, Bray, and myself  went to Target.  After Target we headed over to the Texas Steakhouse a little early and grabbed an appetizer, blossom petals...omg were they good, even Bray couldn't get enough.

My -in laws, as usual, showed up late for dinner,

but all in all we had a good time, and the food was SO good!  Might I suggest the Texas Iron Skillet.

We sat at the table right underneath this HUGE bull, so we told Bray that if he didn't use his inside voice and stay in his seat the bull was going to sneeze on him...I know pure poor parenting, but guess who stayed in their seat AND used his inside voice the ENTIRE TIME...that's right BRAYDEN!
Eating out with Bray is always an adventure cause he just gets so dang fired up and can't stay in his seat to save his life!

The evening got better though...once we got back home, Bray and I sat on the front porch rockers for a hour or so and just rocked and talked about his "sea creatures" his grandma had brought back from the beach for him.  This child gets more "surprises" than the law allows.

Dinner with Family and Friends...

Last night we celebrated my birthday with some family and a few friends.  It was delicious: chicken wings (I know pure redneck..but they are soooo darn good), homemade french fries, salad, and best of all Mama's homemade pineapple cake...yumm.
Brayden was so funny, all throughout dinner he and Rachael had been sining "Happy Birthday to Mommy, Happy Birthday to Mommy" too stinking cute. But then, when it came time to cut the cake and sing, guess who wouldn't say/sing a word...yep Brayden Burd...We got so tickled though cause right in the middle of singing he looks over at "Grandma Dean" and says as loud as he can...." Grandma Dean's not singing".  The song stops and we all bust out laughing!
It was nice after dinner to be able to sit out on the front porch in the new rockers Denny and Brayden got me.

I guess you could say just another day in the life of a small town southern woman....

Oh baby baby...baby boy!

In the craziness of life...I have forgotten to inform everyone that we will be having another baby BOY!  There are several names that we have been entertaining for the last month or so, they are.... in no particular order:
  • Lincoln
  • Sawyer
  • Finnley
  • Tucker
  • Legend
Let me know what you guys think!
Since today is my 29th birthday, I thought I would start a blog to keep track of my life, since time seems to have started to fly. Ever since I married my best friend, Denny, in August of 2007 things just haven't slowed down.
